About Us
An independent, fan-made practice site for the Poople word ladder game.
Who we are
Poople Unlimited is a small independent project, built and looked after by people who like word games. The idea was simple. The daily Poople puzzle is over in a couple of minutes, and we wanted more ladders to practise on. So we made a place that hands out as many as you want.
Why we built this site
The original game gives you one puzzle a day, and that's part of its charm. Practice is a different thing. If you want to get better you need lots of start words, a way to check your answers, and a feel for the usual routes to POOP. This site covers those: an unlimited practice game, a solver that finds the shortest path, a plain-English guide to the rules, and a few other free word games when you want a change.
How we relate to the original game
Poople Unlimited is an independent fan site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Poople or its creators. The idea behind it, changing one letter at a time to make a new word, is a classic puzzle format. The design, writing, graphics and code on this site are our own.
What you can expect from us
- Free to play. Every game and tool here is free.
- Your data stays with you. Game progress is stored only in your own browser. The Privacy Policy spells out exactly what is collected.
- Our own words. We write our guides ourselves and don't copy text or artwork from other sites. When a word list comes from a public source, we say so.
- A light, accessible site. Pages are static and fast, they work with a keyboard and a screen reader, and they respect reduced-motion and dark-mode settings.
- Ads kept honest. If we ever show advertising, it will be labelled and never disguised as part of a game or guide.
How the games are made
The practice puzzle and the solver run entirely in your browser. They use an open English word list and a breadth-first search to find the shortest route from any four-letter word to POOP. Because word lists differ, a word that works here may be refused elsewhere, and the other way round. That's why both tools let you remove a word and recalculate.
Other games in our collection are written or chosen by us and tested before they go live. Each game page explains its rules, credits where it came from, and answers a few common questions.
