What is the Poople archive?

The Poople archive is a complete list of every earlier Poople puzzle. Each entry has the puzzle number, the date, the start word and par, and you can open the full shortest ladder to POOP with one tap. The Poople archive begins with puzzle #1 on August 15, 2025 and ends with yesterday’s puzzle, so it never gives away a word you have not reached yet.

Poople is a daily word ladder game. Everyone gets the same start word, changes one letter at a time, makes a real word at every step, and tries to reach POOP in as few steps as possible. The official game moves on to a new word every day at 08:00 UTC, which is exactly when a new row is added to this Poople archive.

How to use the Poople archive

  1. Pick a year, then a month. The month buttons show how many puzzles each one holds. Choose Latest to go back to the newest puzzles.
  2. Jump to a date. If you remember the day, type it into the date box and the matching puzzle appears at once.
  3. Find a start word. Type up to four letters, such as ROOF or just RO, and the Poople archive lists every puzzle whose start word contains them.
  4. Open the answer. Press Show answer on any row to see the shortest route to POOP, with the changed letter marked at every step.

What each Poople archive entry shows

Every row in the Poople archive carries the same four facts, so you can scan the list quickly and still find what you need.

  • Puzzle number. Puzzle #1 was the first daily game. The number goes up by one every day.
  • Date. The day the puzzle started. A puzzle runs from 08:00 UTC until 08:00 UTC the next morning.
  • Start word. The four-letter word everybody began from that day.
  • Par. The fewest steps a ladder can take. If your ladder matched par, you played it perfectly.

Open a row and you also get two buttons. Replay starts a practice round of Poople Unlimited from that same start word. More routes opens the Poople Solver with every other shortest route for that word.

Why browse past Poople answers?

A Poople archive is useful long after the day has passed. If you missed a day, you can see what the word was and how short the ladder could be. If you want to improve, replay an old puzzle that cost you extra steps and look for the shortcut. If you simply like word puzzles, it is a free set of several hundred ready-made ladders, each with a known best score.

Looking back also teaches patterns. You will notice that many ladders pass through the same few words close to POOP, such as POOL, POOR, COOP and LOOP, and that some start words are always harder than they look. That feel for the word graph is what makes the next daily puzzle quicker.

Poople Archive FAQ

What is the Poople archive?

The Poople archive is a list of every earlier Poople puzzle. Each entry shows the puzzle number, the date, the start word and par, and one tap opens the full shortest ladder to POOP. It starts with puzzle #1 on August 15, 2025 and ends with yesterday's puzzle.

How do I find a Poople answer for a certain date?

Open the Poople archive and pick the year and month, or type the day into the date box. You can also type up to four letters of the start word to find every puzzle that used it. Press Show answer on a row to see the shortest route.

Does the Poople archive show today's answer?

No. The archive stops at yesterday so it never spoils a puzzle you have not played. Today's start word, par and ladder are on the Poople Answer Today page, and the Poople Hint page gives clues without the answer.

How far back does the Poople archive go?

All the way to puzzle #1, which was the first daily puzzle on August 15, 2025. A new entry is added every day, so the list grows by one row each morning.

When is the Poople archive updated?

Every day shortly after 08:00 UTC, when the official game moves on to a new start word. The page checks for the newest puzzle when it opens, so yesterday's entry is there as soon as today's puzzle begins.

Why does the archive show only one ladder for each puzzle?

Many start words have several shortest routes, and any of them scores the same par. The archive shows one route to keep the list quick to read. Press the More routes button to open the Poople Solver with all the other shortest routes for that word.

Can I practise an old Poople puzzle?

Yes. Open any row and press Replay to start a round of Poople Unlimited from that exact start word. You can play it as often as you like and try to beat par.

Where does the Poople archive get its data?

From the official Poople game, which posts a new start word every day.
