Cladder: Solve 10 Word Ladder Clues in 60 Seconds
Ten clues, sixty seconds: change exactly one letter each time to climb the ladder.
How to play Cladder
Read the clue and the starting word
Each rung shows a short clue and the current four-letter word. The first word is your starting point. Every later answer must differ from the word above it by exactly one letter.
Change one letter and press Enter
Type a four-letter word that fits the clue and changes just one letter. With GAME on the board and a clue about fame, swap the G for an F to get FAME. Wrong guesses cost only time, so keep trying.
Clear all ten rungs before the timer ends
You have sixty seconds for the whole ladder. Two skips are available for a stubborn clue, but each one costs five seconds. Finish the tenth rung to complete the day's puzzle.

What is Cladder?
Cladder is a free daily word ladder played against the clock. You get ten short clues and sixty seconds. Each answer is a four-letter word that differs from the previous one by a single letter.
You are never searching blindly. The clue tells you where to head and the one-letter rule tells you how you may get there, so you are always one edit away from the answer if you read the hint right.
Managing sixty seconds across ten clues
Sixty seconds sounds generous until you reach clue seven with single digits left on the clock. Easy rungs should take two or three seconds so the harder ones have room.
Since wrong guesses are free in Cladder, it is often faster to type a likely word than to stare at the grid. A quick miss costs a second. A long pause can cost the whole ladder.
When a skip is worth five seconds
Think of skips as emergency exits, not shortcuts. Spending five seconds to escape a vague clue can still leave time to finish the last rungs. Using both skips early usually leaves too little time for the final three words.
Save them for clues where you understand the meaning but can't see the letter swap.
Cladder tips
- Scan the starting word for the single position that could change. Vowels swap most often.
- Decide the clue's topic first (food, body part, person), then look for the matching swap.
- Type fast and guess freely. Misses cost nothing but a moment.
- Don't burn both skips early. Keep one for the final stretch.

Cladder FAQ
What is Cladder?
Cladder is a daily timed word ladder. You solve ten clues in sixty seconds by changing one letter of the previous four-letter word to reach the next answer.
How does the one-letter rule work in Cladder?
Each new answer must be exactly one letter different from the word before it. For example, GAME can become FAME by changing the first letter from G to F, while the other letters stay in place.
What happens if I guess wrong in Cladder?
Nothing is deducted from your score. You simply try again until the word is accepted. The only cost is the time passing on the clock.
How do skips work in Cladder?
You get two skips per puzzle. Using a skip passes the current clue but removes five seconds from your remaining time.
How long do I have to finish Cladder?
You have sixty seconds for all ten clues. The timer runs for the whole ladder, not per clue.
When does the daily Cladder puzzle update?
A new Cladder ladder goes live every day at midnight, so complete today's run before the reset.
